Living United means being a part of the change. It takes everyone in the community working together to create a brighter future. Together, we can accomplish more than any single group can on its own. We invite you to be part of the change.
You can make change happen with your voice. Get informed. Tell your friends. Write a letter to the editor. Join a board or a committee. United Way of Indian River County needs people who are passionate about education, income, and health, to make some noise.
INDIAN RIVER COUNTY FUNDERS FORUM
Conceptualized in conversations between the United Way of Indian River County and the John's Island Community Service League in the spring of 2010, the Forum is an informal association of local grant-makers - private and community foundations - who seek to strengthen their knowledge of and connection with local non-profit issues and community needs in order to maximize their charitable giving. The Forum encourages participants to:
Promote effective philanthropy and encourage collective action, as appropriate to participants’ respective philanthropic goals
Explore the responsibilities of ethical grantmaking
Participants meet periodically for peer-led discussions on community programs of philanthropic interest, shared challenges and goals, and potential collaborative opportunities.
All participants are expected to adhere to a code of confidentiality regarding information shared in connection with a Funders Forum meeting.
