2-1-1

In the Spring of 2005 United Way of Indian River County partnered with the Center for Crisis and Information Services to bring 2-1-1, a comprehensive information and referral service, to residents in Indian River County .

Highly trained volunteers serve as information and referral specialists who are available 24-hours-a-day, 365 days a year to answer caller's questions and make the appropriate referrals. The centralized service eliminates confusion about who to call and where to go when you need help. The easy to remember number is a link to thousands of health and human service programs from alcohol abuse to youth camps. The service area spans the Treasure Coast from Indian River County to Palm Beach County .

To ensure the latest, most accurate, information on health and human services are available in Indian River County a 2-1-1 Community Education Specialist, Faith Frazier, has been hired and is operating a 2-1-1 satellite office in the new United Way Center in downtown Vero Beach.

Mental Health Association Crisis Line, 562-2000 is still the first call for help for individuals living in the county who are in crisis.
