Michael Kint, Chief Executive Officer

Michael joined the United Way of Indian River County in 1995, first as Foundation Administrator, Success by 6 Coordinator and later as COO.  His steadfast leadership has grown the organization, in mission, in scope and in impact. During his term as CEO, Michael has focused on sound fiscal management, transparency, and the development of key community impact initiatives including:  championing the founding and steering of the Mental Health Collaborative, 2-1-1, the United Way of Indian River County’s ESF 15 Function, the development of the Indian River County Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster, and the creation of the Family Financial Stability Initiative. Michael holds an M.A. from Nothern Illinois University.  In addition to his many activities on behalf of the Indian River Community, Michael is busy most weekends chasing after his two grandsons.

Meredith Egan, Chief Operating Officer

Meredith joined our United Way team in 2014. She brings her experience working with the Success By 6 and Safe and Stable Families programs for United Way of Lake County, IL, and Director of Community Initiatives at United Way of Atlantic County, NJ. Meredith has a BA in Sociology/Anthropology and Women's Studies from the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, an MA in International Service from Roehampton University, UK, and an Executive Certificate for Transformational Nonprofit Leadership from the University of Notre Dame. Meredith is a relationship builder, fun and innovative, with a dedication to excellence in her work.

Melissa Ogonoski, Director of Finance

United Way welcomed Melissa in January 2016. Her experience includes non-profit work as well as public accounting. She received a degree in business with a major in accounting from Florida Atlantic University and most recently worked for the Visiting Nurse Association of the Treasure Coast. Previous work for The Homeless Family Center and The Arc of St. Lucie County, Inc. along with multiple local accounting firms equips her with a strong community orientation.

Margaret Ostman, Marketing Director

Margaret joined United Way of Indian River County in 2012 after serving the St.Lucie County United Way as Director of Communications and Marketing. Previously, she served as Executive Director at the United Way of Sherburne County in Minnesota, and Executive Director at Rivers of Hope, a United Way partner agency serving victims of domestic abuse. Margaret received her BA in Communications from Augsburg College, Minneaplis, MN. Margaret and husband, Kris, relocated to Vero Beach in 2007.

Tracey Segal, Campaign Director

Tracey Segal has joined the staff of United Way of Indian River County as Campaign Director. Most recently, Tracey was Program Administrator at Samaritan Center for Homeless Families, and before that, Community Development Officer at Indian River National Bank. Segal is the lead staff for the Annual Campaign which grows the financial support needed to make a difference in the lives of people in need.

Nate Bruckner, Director of Community Impact

Nate joined United Way in November, 2015. He previously served as Director of Development at Gifford Youth Achievement Center in Vero Beach. Nate received a Bachelor of Arts - Business Administration from Florida Southern College and brings experience volunteering locally on the United Way Kindergarten Readiness Collaborative, The Learning Alliance, Childcare Resources, and Dogs for Life. Bruckner has also worked as; an Associate for Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services, Vero Beach; a consultant for Paramount Pictures, St. Petersburg, FL; and an Associate Producer for Walt Disney Studios, Burbank CA.

Eve Ballance, Community Impact Coordinator

Eve has worked for United Way of Indian River County since 2003. She coordinates our extensive Citizen’s Review Process every spring bringing together over a hundred community volunteers.  Born in New South Wales, Australia, Eve is our most international staff member. She worked for over 15 years at the United Nations in Vienna, Austria in conference services and received a degree from McPherson College in Melbourne, Australia.  Fluent in German, she managed the School Thrift Store for the American International School in Vienna while raising her twins.  While at the United Way, Eve has been instrumental in the development of our Family Financial Stability Initiative, actively promoting our Familywize Discount Prescription Card and single-handedly launching our VITA tax preparation program.

Caitlin Puppo, Workplace Campaign Manager

Caitlin Puppo joined the United Way of Indian River County as Workplace Campaign Manager in January of 2015. Caitlin previously worked for the Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice Foundation in Vero Beach, FL. She graduated from Indian RIver State College in December of 2012 with her Bachelor's in Applied Science in Organizational Management in Healthcare. Caitlin lives in Vero Beach with her husband, Anthony, and their two puppies, Gracie and Piper.

MaccaEna Gannat, Campaign Associate

MaccaEna joined our United Way team in February, 2016. Her recent experience was with the National YoungArts Foundation in Miami where she worked as Development Operations & Database Coordinator. Before that she was a Volunteer Coordinator for the Florida Film Festival and Executive Assistant, Project Coordinator for The Cameron Group in Orlando. She's a graduate of the University of Central Florida with a major in Cinema Studies and a minor in Creative Writing.

Lindsay Burcham, Office Assistant

Lindsay has been volunteering with United Way since 2006 and joined our staff in 2012. She is a graduate of Vero Beach High School, (2006), and has completed course work in technical training and office skills at Indian River State College. She assists with our annual campaign mailings, archives media, and can very often be found at our front desk. Lindsay spends time on the weekends trying hard to train her two strong-willed dogs, Sadie Grace and Terra Cotta. Lindsay and her husband, Jason, live in Vero Beach.
