United Way Names 2017-2018 Board of Directors

3 New Directors Join Board at UWIRC

Vero Beach, FL – United Way of Indian River County is proud to welcome three additional members to our Board of Directors.

Dr. Katie Nall

Since 2005, Nall has been the Mueller Campus Program Director at Indian River State College (IRSC). She was hired to start, build, and maintain the IRSC site located in Sebastian which serves over 400 students.  She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics/Computer Science from San Francisco State University, a Master of Science degree from University of Georgia in Statistics, and a Ph.D. in Mathematics Education from Florida Institute of Technology.

Nall is a mentor for Take Stock in Children, a member of the American Association of University Women, a Professional Member of the National Speakers Association, a member of Indian River Lawyers’ Auxiliary, and a Certified Practitioner of Emotional Freedom Technique.  Since 1980, Nall has been involved in a number of community wide projects in Indian River County.

 

 

Dr. Mark Rendell

Mark Rendell has over 27 years of experience in public education having served as a classroom teacher, school level administrator, district level administrator and adjunct college professor.  He has worked in school districts in Virginia and North Carolina, as well as in Brevard and St. Lucie Counties, here in Florida.  He received a Bachelor’s Degree from James Madison University, a Master’s Degree from Nova Southeastern, and a Doctorate Degree in Education from the University of Central Florida.

Mark Rendell has been happily married to Heidi Rendell for over 25 years and they have three children. Nathaniel is a sophomore at the University of Florida, Lucas is a Senior at Sebastian River High School, and daughter Sarah Grace is a Freshman at Vero Beach High School.  Dr. Rendell grew up on military bases all over the world as his father served our country as a member of the United States Navy.  He spends his free time with his family enjoying all of the activities our coastal community has to offer such as spending time at the beach
 

 

Reverend Benny Rhyant

Reverend Rhyant is a pastor at New Mt. Sinai Baptist Church where he has served for 14 years.  Reverend Rhyant received a B.A. in Sociology from Bethune-Cookman College and a Masters in Theology from Jacksonville Theological Seminary.

Reverend Rhyant is a retiree of Florida Power and Light.  He works with the NAACP, the Progressive Civic League, and the Pastors Association of Indian River County.  He is married with two sons and six grandchildren.
