Education

GET KIDS STARTED ON THE RIGHT FOOT

Success in life begins with a quality education.

We’re fighting to shift the odds so tomorrow’s leaders can build a better foundation today. With an approach to education that spans from cradle to career, we’re ensuring every child get a strong start in life, teenagers have the tools to learn and grow, and young adults thrive in the job market.

BORN LEARNING TRAILS

Everyday life is a learning experience for children. United Way’s Born Learning Trails help families turn everyday moments into fun learning opportunities, and provides tools to help advance childhood success strategies

LITTLE FREE LIBRARY

Little Free Libraries are a part of United Way of Indian River County’s efforts to promote childhood literacy.

Little Free Libraries play an essential role by providing 24/7 access to books and encouraging a love of reading in areas where books are scarce. These libraries, which are provided by multiple community neighbors and childhood literacy supporters, help to communicate the importance of literacy by offering unique reading options to children (and adults) of all ages.

With a “take one, leave one” concept, readers can borrow a book and leave a book to share with others. The books are free and replenished with donations from the community.
