Citizen Review Process Funding 2017

United Way is releasing its 2017-2019 Citizen Review Process grant application on December 16th, 2016, for education programs serving Indian River County.

The grant application will be made available on the web at www.unitedwayirc.org/CRPFunding. The deadline for the application is 4 p.m., March 1st, 2017.Those interested in applying for funding must attend a mandatory meeting on January 10th, 3:00 - 5:00 p.m., at the United Way Center.

Successful proposals will support at least one of 3 major focuses within United Way’s Education Impact area.  

1.    Early Learning, aligned with the community goal to increase to 85% the children who enter kindergarten ready to succeed by 2019, serves children birth thru five years of age;

2.    School and Academic Success both support the outcome that All children succeed and achieve in school. Specifically, School Success aligns with the community goal to increase to 90% the 3rd graders who are performing on grade level and increase their positive behaviors by 2019, affecting children age 6-10. Academic Success affects children 11-14 years of age;

3.    Graduate for Success aligns with the community goal to increase to 90% the students who graduate on time from high school by 2019. This focus includes teens aged 15-18.  

This funding process is open to any nonprofit that serves Indian River County children.  Programs that are new to this funding process are eligible for one year of funding, those that are currently funded by United Way are eligible for two year funding. Agencies that are not currently receiving United Way of Indian River County funding are required to pass an initial review by United Way volunteers. Programs that receive funding will be required to submit progress reports every 6 months.
