2019 United Way Day of Caring


United Way Day of Caring is a massive one-day volunteer event unlike any other in Indian River County. Each year countless volunteers roll up their sleeves and work together to make a difference in our community. Whether you're a community organization with a project that needs doing or a volunteer ready to make a difference, Day of Caring is for you!



+ When is Day of Caring?

Get ready to volunteer! This year, our largest volunteer event will be on Saturday, October 5, 2019! The Kickoff Breakfast starts at 8 a.m.


+ Where is the Day of Caring Kickoff Breakfast?

The Kickoff Breakfast will take place at 8 a.m. at the Citrus Bowl at Billy Livings Field (16th St, Vero Beach, FL, 32960). Please note that if there is inclement weather that day, the Kickoff Breakfast will be held at Vero Beach High School's Witt Gym (located across the street from the Citrus Bowl at Billy Livings Field).

+ Can everyone from my organization volunteer together?

We do our best to match large volunteer groups with available projects if you would like to stay together. You may also choose to submit applications for separate volunteer teams to impact more agencies or to accommodate your staffing and scheduling needs.

+ Can my school register a project?

Yes! We'd love to help your school complete a project. Please contact Sydney at 772-567-8900 for more information.


+ Can my nonprofit submit a project even if we are not a current United Way of Indian River County funded partner?

Yes, absolutely! 


+ What if my group has particular needs or limitations?

You will have an opportunity to submit any additional information that we may need to help match you with the best project for your group in your registration forms.

+ What do we need to bring?

In many cases, all materials needed for a project will be provided; however, depending on the project, you may be asked if you can bring extra tools if they are available (ie a shovel, a drill).


+ What is the deadline for all registrations? 

The deadline for registering a project is Friday, September 13. The deadline for volunteer registration is Friday, September 20.
