United Way Names 2016-2017 Board of Directors
7 New Directors Join Board at UWIRC
Vero Beach, FL, May 25, 2016 – Seven people have stepped up to the responsibility of leading a backbone community organization. “United Way of Indian River County is known for its stellar Board of Directors,” commented Susan Adams, Board Chair, “and we’re looking forward to the contributions of these new members.”
Christopher Bieber is an Area Executive for CenterState Bank working out of Vero Beach. He graduated from Nova Southeastern University in Business Management, graduated from the Florida School of Banking at the University of Florida, and graduated from the American Bankers Association (ABA) Stonier Graduate School of Banking at University of Pennsylvania with a leadership certificate from Wharton School of Executive Education.
He’s been active with the Healthy Start Coalition (Dancing with Vero Stars) as well as United Way and the Education Foundation of Indian River County. Chris and his wife Amber have two children, Lauren and Lindsay, both attend Rosewood Magnet School.
Anthony Guettler is a partner in the law firm Gould Cooksey Fennell, where he focuses on complex estate planning, estate administration and tax planning. Anthony is Board Certified as a Specialist in Wills, Trusts and Estates, holds a graduate law degree (LL.M.) in taxation, and maintains an “AV” rating by Martindale-Hubbell. Super Lawyers names him as one of Florida’s “Rising Stars.”
Anthony actively supports a number of local charitable organizations, including the Indian River Community Foundation, Treasure Coast Gator Club and Atlantic Classical Orchestra. In his free time, Anthony enjoys spending time with his wife Melanie and two daughters Ella and Claire.
Margo Lind has been a CPA for twenty-five years, performing audits of governmental, healthcare and not-for-profit organizations. She is a graduate of Northeast Missouri State University with a B.S. in Accounting and the University of Missouri – St. Louis with an M.A. in Accounting. She has lived on the Treasure Coast for the past fourteen years, and served as the audit manager for United Way of Indian River County for seven years.
Lind has also served on the Boards and as Treasurer of several not-for-profit organizations, including Substance Awareness Center of Indian River County, Childcare Resources of Indian River and St. Andrew’s Episcopal Academy. Margo and her husband, Tom, have two children, Thomas, who is also a local CPA, and ten-year old Samantha.
Jeffrey Petersen is a partner of the Segura Molloy Petersen Group at Merrill Lynch. He is a graduate of Saint Edward’s School, received a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering from Vanderbilt University, an MBA in International Finance from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, and a Master of Engineering Management from Northwestern University’s McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.
Petersen is excited to be active in the Vero Beach community, volunteering with the United Way, the Indian River Community Foundation, Future Leaders Professional Advisors Council, Girls on the Run of the Treasure Coast, and as a lacrosse coach for the Indian River Lacrosse Sun Devils team.
Gregory Rogolino was hired by Publix Super Markets Inc. as a bagger 35 years ago, has filled many roles at several stores and currently is the store manager at the Miracle Mile Publix (Treasure Coast Plaza). He was awarded the George Jenkins Award for Excellence in 2005, the highest recognition given to a Publix store manager.
Rogolino’s vast nonprofit experience includes mentoring for Big Brothers Big Sisters, March of Dimes Walk Committee, church leadership, and numerous volunteer positions at 3 Treasure Coast United Ways. He currently serves as the Community Impact Committee Chair for United Way of Indian River County. He is married and has two children, Paige 22 and Alan 17.
Jeff Schlitt has been in the insurance industry since graduating from Florida State University and is co-owner of Schlitt Insurance Services, Inc. He has obtained various insurance licenses including the Charter Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation and Certified Financial Planner (CFP), and has served his industry as President of the Independent Agents of Indian River County and Indian River Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. At a state level he served as Chairman of the Board with Florida Association of Insurance Agents 2014-2015.
Jeff and his wife, Cassie, are the parents of three children. When Jeff isn’t spending time with his family, he also enjoys fishing, golfing, and FSU Football!
Colonel Martin J. Zickert served in the United States Air Force for 30 ½ years in Thailand, the Philippines, Germany and numerous stateside locations. After retirement, he became involved in the financial services field returning to Germany to work with the US military for the ING insurance company. He served as President of the Veterans Council for three years and helped raise awareness of veterans in Indian River County establishing the Upward American Veterans helping financial distressed families and Veterans Outreach.
He has been the Blue Angels’ liaison for the 2014 and 2016 Vero Beach Airshows. Zickert was instrumental in helping United Way set up their Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. His son is an investment advisor for PNC Bank’s mainland banks in Vero Beach.
